What is Copenhagen Beer Celebration?

CBC is a beer festival bringing together the most epic brewers from around the world, paired with incredible live music. CBC has been held for years in its hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark, and is coming to the US for the first time ever this September for one weekend only in Boston, MA.

FAQs

When and where is it held?

When:
Friday and Saturday, September 23rd and 24th

Where:
City Hall Plaza — 1 City Hall Square, Boston, MA 02201

How much do tickets cost?

Visit our Tickets page for all pricing. General admission includes access to the festival grounds plus 10 tokens, each valid for a 2oz sample from the breweries of your choice. VIP admission includes a bracelet valid for as many samples as you’d like.

Can I get additional beers at the festival?

Yes. Additional beer tokens will be available: $10 (5 tokens), $20 (12 tokens), $30 (18 tokens), $40 (24 tokens), and $50 (30 tokens). We will also feature a special Mikkeller bar where you can purchase full pints of Mikkeller beers, brewed specially for this festival.

I see you have very rare beers at this event, will I be guaranteed to get to try all of them?

If your top priority is to try as many rare beers as possible, let us recommend the VIP ticket. It allows you as many samples as you like, AND gets you early access to the event, so you can beat the crowds and have first access to hard to get beers. If you have GA ticket, we expect to have enough of each beer to last each session, but in some instances with very popular beers, they may run out.

When will the full beer lineup be available?

Many brewers will feature 3 to 4 exclusive draughts over the three sessions and we need to give them time create their perfect beers. We will plan to release a full brewer map and beer list a few weeks prior to the event. Sign up for the CBC email list or follow us on social media to be the first to know.

Are all the beers the same at each session?

No. Each brewer will rotate one or two styles per session, making each session unique.

Can I come if I am under 21 and not drink?

Unfortunately not. This event is strictly 21+, and all patrons will be ID checked and wristbanded prior to entering. If you are coming from out of state or from outside the US, please bring a passport and a second form of ID to be admitted to the event. Parents are not allowed to accompany any minors into the event.

Where should I stay in Boston?

We suggest staying at a hotel near City Hall Plaza, such as The Wyndahm or the Ames. There are many places that are within a short walk of the festival.

I lost/forgot my ticket, what do I do?

Please consult the Ticketing Policies on the Eventbrite page.

What should I bring to the festival?

Sunscreen
Hats
Sunglasses
Non-professional film and digital cameras
(1) Factory sealed bottle of water (non-glass container)
Small bags (any bag within 12×12 size will be allowed in)
Valid Driver’s License for will-call and/or to drink alcohol

Is the festival accessible to people with disabilities?

The entire plaza has various ramps accessing the multiple levels. ADA accessible restrooms are available at all facility banks.

Any tips on preparation for a day at Copenhagen Beer Celebration?

We suggest preparing for the event as follows:
Dress in cool, lightweight clothing
Bring those sunglasses
Lather up in sunscreen and bring some extra in case needed
Bring a hat
Wear comfy shoes
Stay hydrated! Drink water before and during the event.

Are there ATMs available if I run low on cash?

ATMs will be located on site. Credit cards are accepted for beer, tokens, and merchandise purchases.

What will be available in the food areas?

An amazing assortment of food from Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Barracuda Tavern, Tasty Burger, Zinneken’s Belgium Waffles, and, specially from Denmark – WAR PIGS BBQ.

Many food vendors will feature vegetarian/gluten free options. We are not currently looking for any additional food vendors for this event.

Will you have merchandise for sale?

Festival t-shirts for men and women, and some special edition hats, shirts, and gifts will be sold at the merchandise stand. Be on the lookout for special merchandise offerings before the festival as well.
